Jimmy Grants welcomes some tasty newcomers

Published on 12 July 2018

Jimmy Grants is George Calombaris’ modern interpretation of a typical Athenian souvlaki bar and is where you’ll see the humble ‘souva’ and other Greek street food classics elevated to delicious new heights.

A firm favourite with locals of all ages, Jimmy’s is known for its super-fresh, super-tasty Hellenic fare and fun, come-anytime atmosphere. Never one to rest, George likes to keep things fresh and relevant, so when a few newcomers joined the Jimmy Grants menu recently, we knew it was going to be good.

Ms Gazi Souva

Heading up the new line-up is the deliciously delicate ‘Ms Gazi’ souva – featuring soft shell crab, Kewpie mayo, Attiki honey, coriander, mint and Hellenic slaw all wrapped up in Jimmy Grants’ signature pita.

The Green Greek

For fans of plant-based vegetarian goodness, ‘The Green Greek’ delivers a tasty hit of virtue with healthy wombok, brown rice, zucchini, mushroom, eggplant, oregano pesto, seeds, nuts all wrapped up souva style.

Eat Like a Greek

Elsewhere on the menu, perennial favourite share platter ‘Eat Like a Greek’ returns while new combo ‘The Greatness’ offers slow roasted lamb shoulder, chicken from the spit (or a combo of the two) plus a Jimmy Dimmy (fried or steamed) and a small serve of house-made chicken salt chips.

Chicken Salt Chips

Wait, did someone just say chicken salt chips? Yes, we did. There’s no shame in indulging in the classics, and we reckon these might just be the most delicious chicken salt chips we’ve had. Made with Jimmy Grants’ very own homemade chicken salt they’re MSG-free and utterly addictive.
